Before that I don't think anyone had ever heard of him. he got some sort of disease and sympathy pored out for a while. Microsoft hired him to run Slate. Slate declined, but that was probably inevitable and had nothing to do with his tenure. He still spouts the Dem party line, and in spite of working at Microsoft has proven his lack of understanding of technology at the LA Times. *yawn*
